I am filled with gratitude as rare gems of color - and great beauty - have surrounded me for the better part of the last 39 years. Riding the wave of the internet boom and the launch of CherryPicked.com in 1999, I felt a responsibility to steward these rare natural treasures by presenting not only the finest gems available but also digitally packaging them thoughtfully for the soon to emerge nascent internet. Using the first generation Olympus digital HD camera to capture every angle of my precious subjects, I chose to balance romance & passion with full disclosure, 3rd party accredited certification and a transparent detailed evaluation graph I created called CherryScoring. A weighted algorithm by which to assess, compare and evaluate precious gems of color online and offline, the system had one goal with an extensive feature set; To sell gems by giving consumers the same deep knowledge as a gem professional using one screen, with as few words as possible in a 30 second glance in a comparison-rich marketplace of my construct. CherryPicked.com quickly became the industry poster boy out-of-the-box disruptive website selling the finest of important gems of color on the internet.
